[Libs-Or] Digital Skills for Everyday Tasks - virtual workshop opportunity!

As part of its Libraries Lead with Digital Skills<http://www.ala.org/pla/initiatives/google> program, ALA has partnered with the Grow with Google<https://grow.google/partners/> program to offer opportunities for public libraries to receive ongoing access to free tools and resources to help everyone across America grow their skills, careers, and businesses.

The Grow with Google Partner Program<https://grow.google/partners/> allows libraries to access the training and curriculum used to teach the digital skills for career and business opportunities and receive support for programming in your local community.

As an introduction to Grow with Google, the Deschutes Public Library is hosting a free virtual workshop Digital Skills for Everyday Tasks<http://g.co/Grow/Oregon> on November 17th from 9:00-10:00 a.m.

This session, led by a Grow with Google trainer, will focus on showing participants how to manage work and life tasks using common tools like Google Docs and Sheets.

The State Library would like to encourage Oregon public libraries to promote this upcoming workshop in your own community.

Since it will also be a great opportunity to see a live demonstration of Google's digital skills curriculum, we encourage library staff, especially those involved in virtual programming, to attend.

A grant opportunity for Oregon public libraries to help promote this type of programming to your local community will also be announced soon as part of the Libraries Lead with Digital Skills program.
