Good morning,
This is a terrific resource that I wanted to share with the library community, if you haven't discovered it already. I've relied on this guide countless times with patrons' legal questions over the years, and am very pleased to see a new and updated version has been published.
"Legal Guide For Grandparents and Other Relatives Raising Children in Oregon (2020)"
https://oregonkinshipnavigator.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/OKN-legal-guide-2020.pdf
It's a much-needed update to the 2016 version<https://sharedsystems.dhsoha.state.or.us/DHSForms/Served/de9395.pdf>. From the intro: "This guide was originally published in 2004 through a grant by the Brookdale Foundation. It was updated again in 2009, 2012, and 2016. Past partners in the development of this guide include Oregon State University's Extension Family and Community Health Program, AARP, and Oregon Department of Human Services."
And an acknowledgement for Janay Haas, who you may know as the Oregon lawyer-author of "Using Small Claims Court in Oregon" and other titles for self-represented litigants. Again, from the intro: "This book is based in part on copyrighted material produced by Mara Fields and Legal Aid Services of Oregon, and used with their permission. Also acknowledged is Peter James of the Oregon Law Center for background information on public benefits. Thanks to Janay Haas, J.D., who edited and organized the information."
I hope you find it as useful as I do!
Best,
Sue
