Oregon State Universities and Press is now accepting applications for the position of Library Technician 3, Collection Maintenance. The OSU Valley Library is on Oregon State's main campus in Corvallis, Oregon.

The purpose of this position is to provide support for the Resource Sharing & Collections Maintenance Unit Manager in the Resource Acquisitions & Sharing Department (RAS). This person will be responsible for coordinating Collection Maintenance processes, services, and essential activities. Primary duties for this position focus on coordinating projects related to the physical collections of the OSU Valley Library and the off-site storage facility, and their associated online records in the integrated library system so that students, faculty, and staff are able to easily identify and locate the resources they need to support their learning, research and teaching. This position will also lead student employees in the maintenance, physical arrangement, and re-arrangement of the collections as well as Collection Maintenance projects for the print collections of the OSU Valley Library. This person will be responsible for coordinating the storage service point daily, including, but not limited to retrieving, scanning, and processing materials from storage, and coordinating, planning, and managing the physical arrangement and re-arrangement of the storage facility collection. This may include the scheduling, training, and coordinating of student employees supporting the storage service workflow. In collaboration with the ILL work coordinator and the unit manager, this person will provide support in training, scheduling, providing feedback on performance, and oversee student employees. The person in this position must be sensitive to the needs of an inclusive and diverse community at Oregon State University and fulfill the relevant duties in support of the University's core values in promoting a welcoming, respectful and accessible environment in engaging with members of both the University and the OSU Libraries and Press communities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus two years of current (within 5 years) experience in a Library; OR 4 years of current library experience. AND advanced proficiency in multiple library specific computer applications, e.g., integrated library systems, database applications, institutional repository; content management systems. Some positions may also require in-depth knowledge of specialty area(s), e.g., original cataloging, complex copy cataloging, serials management, ILL management, government documents, image resources, music.

Additional Required Qualifications:
*       High attention to detail with good organizational skills.
*       Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
*       Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
*       Ability to handle a high level of physical activity (i.e. lifting, carrying, reaching, etc.) due to regular daily tasks within the physical collection.
*       Demonstrated ability to use an integrated database (i.e. ILS).
*       Demonstrated ability to use Excel (data functions, data validation, etc.).
*       Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license.
*       A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
*       Experience with Resource Sharing or Interlibrary Loan request processing
*       Experience overseeing others work (i.e. student workers, volunteers)
*       Demonstrated ability to be creative and flexible when troubleshooting problems
