If you are someone who strives to provide excellent customer service, has strong communication skills across a wide variety of formats and audiences, enjoys working in a team-oriented environment, is passionate about mentoring and coaching students and/or volunteers, and meets the minimum qualifications, then you may be the perfect fit for the Library Technician 3 (LT3) position at Oregon State University Libraries and Press (OSUL) in the Library Experience and Access Department (LEAD).

The hourly wage range for this union-represented position is $17.14 - $25.84, and is non-negotiable. The starting salary for this position will be based on candidates' experience in the tasks and roles associated with the position.

The minimum required qualifications are:

*         Bachelor's degree plus two years of current (within 5 years) experience in a Library; OR, 4 years of current library experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience; AND, proficiency in multiple library specific computer applications, e.g., integrated library systems, database applications, institutional repositories; content management systems.
*         Demonstrated ability to use an integrated library system, experience in supervising and coaching students and/or volunteers, ability to provide outstanding customer service in a busy environment, commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
*         This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Offers of employment are contingent upon meeting all minimum qualifications including the Criminal History Check Requirement.

These positions are in an office/library environment with exposure to fluorescent lighting. You will be working with returned materials that may be damaged and could include, but are not limited to, dust, dirt, and on occasion, mold and pests. The work is physically demanding, with constant standing, reaching, lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling book carts, in addition to emptying materials from book drops. These positions require regular and frequent work at a computer station, sitting and/or standing, as well as walking throughout the library building or to departments across campus.
