Good afternoon all, and happy Friday!

The Oregon City Public Library is recruiting for our very first Library Safety Specialist. This is a new position for our library, and we're looking for great candidates to fill it!

The position will work part of the time in our Circulation division, performing the full range of circ duties. The ideal candidate will also have experience or training which they can use to help ensure that the Library is a safe and welcoming environment for all our users. This position will advise Library management on safety-related policies and procedures, coordinate reporting and tracking of patron behavior incidents, and help all library divisions prepare for and respond to challenging situations and problem behaviors. The position will also collaborate with other City departments, area social service providers, and community workgroups as our City and community work to address issues and implement strategies related to community safety, homelessness, and mental health.

This is a full-time, benefitted position with a starting pay rate of $23.26/hr. Applications are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday April 28, 2022.
