[Libs-Or] [EXTERNAL] Libs-Or Digest, Vol 230, Issue 25

I use Un-Du adhesive remover as it can also be used on paper without leaving any stains or residue. At home, I just use lemon essential oil and it cuts through adhesive, but it will leave an oily residue/stain on some surfaces similar to GooGone.

Sincerely,

makerspaces/maker programs in their libraries. This meeting is to exchange
ideas, ask questions and get support from other makers like yourself.

The meeting will be 3pm on Tuesday, April 26 and held over Zoom. The Zoom

Greetings,

I wanted to pass along this scholarship opportunity:

One of the main goals for the Native American Collections Roundtable (NACR) is to bridge access for individuals working with, or aspiring to work with Native American collections with the Northwest Archivists [NWA] Annual conference, as participant or presenter. This year, the conference will again be held virtually, May 2nd - 5th, with the theme of: Not to be Forgotten: The Resiliency and Sustainability of Archives to Preserve Untold Stories.

To support this effort, the NACR is offering 25 scholarships to cover conference registration and an annual membership to Northwest Archivists as an opportunity for continued professional development of award recipients. Past scholarship winners are welcome to apply, but priority will be given to new applicants.

Eligibility criteria:

A. Tribal member working with Native American collections;
B. Individual working for tribal information programs;
C. Individual working with Native American collections;
D. Tribal member interested in working with Native American collections.

Please see attached flyer for more information.

Forwarding the announcement of this year?s Beverly Cleary Children?s Choice Award winner, and next year?s nominees, on behalf of Libby Hamler-Dupras.

                                      [BCCCA-Support Materials]            [alt] 20th Year!

April 12th would have been Beverly Cleary?s 106th birthday. Today, the BCCCA Committee is proud to announce that over 1,340 Kindergarten through Middle School children from Oregon, Idaho and Kansas participated in voting for their favorite 2021-2022 BCCCA title!

                                                   The 2021-2022 BCCCA Winner is??

                                                                                                             [cid:image003.png at 01D85565.1B1839E0] by Eloise Greenfield

Thinker isn't just an average puppy?he's a poet. So is his owner, Jace. Together, they turn the world around them into verse. There's just one problem: Thinker has to keep quiet in public, and he can't go to school with Jace. That is, until Pets' Day. But when Thinker is allowed into the classroom at last, he finds it hard to keep his true identity a secret.

A huge shout-out of thanks to all the school and public libraries and classroom teachers who promoted and encouraged their readers to participate in voting for their favorite the Beverly Cleary Children?s Choice Award nominee!

For more information on the BCCCA program, please go to the BCCCA homepage https://ola.memberclicks.net/bccca-home<https://ola.memberclicks.net/bccca-home>.

In another week or so, the 2022-2023 BCCCA Slide Deck with educational links on next year?s five Nominees, spine labels, the 2022-23 Student Paper Ballot and Newberg Public Library?s Amanda Lambs?s flyer and bookmarks will be posted. Official voting opens next year on March 15, 2023 and closes on April 10, 2023.

When the twins find out about a mysterious ghost dog that steals food and no one has been able to catch it, they are determined to find out what?s going on!

Puppy Problems by Paige Braddock.
In this graphic novel, Crackers, a goofy dog who goes nuts over squirrels and Butter, a plump cat who loves licking butter, have a nice, cushy, life together ? until the day their human comes home with a puppy! Floppy-eared Peanut is afraid of the dark: yowl! He dips into all the food bowls: slurp! He drools, chews up stuff, always wants to play, and hogs the human?s lap. Crackers and Butter have had it with all the puppy crazyness!

            Happy Reading!

I haven?t used this in a library setting, but my homemade recipe works like
a champ and is super cheap: equal parts by volume baking soda,
rubbing alcohol, and vegetable oil. I usually combine tablespoons of each
together for my home use.

It may have similar allergenic ingredients, but the product called Un-Du also does the trick. It has quite a harsh smell. The website for the product provides Safety Data Sheets: https://www.un-du.com/

FYI:

The UC Berkeley Library invites you to a virtual celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Asian Americans in the United States are a highly diverse group of peoples with an array of multicultural and multilingual backgrounds, and whose histories are extremely rich and nuanced. This celebration is devoted to honoring our diversity. Presenters will speak about various social and political issues faced by Asian American communities in the U.S. today.
