[Libs-Or] Questions about LGBTQ+ (Ryan Gangwish)

In addition to the ALA Rainbow Project annual book list (
https://glbtrt.ala.org/rainbowbooks/) , there is GLSEN (
https://www.glsen.org/) which deals with LGBTQ educational issues and
research, and PFLAG (https://pflag.org/) has chapters in Salem, Clackamas
County, and Newberg. Learning for Justice (was Teaching Tolerance) has a
section on gender and sexual identity (
https://www.learningforjustice.org/topics/gender-sexual-identity) along
with classroom resources and professional development pages.

The Oregon library community is really good about supporting people with
this kind of question. It might be worth contacting some of the state
organizations--OYAN, OASL--and Greta Bergquist of the Oregon State Library
for ideas.

Best--
Jane
