Sorry for the short notice-this just came across my desk. The Sustainable Libraries Initiative is trying to get a sense of what libraries are thinking and doing around climate. For this survey, these definitions are in use:

Climate Action is defined by SLI to include coordinated work across the areas of:

  *   climate change mitigation - the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions,
  *   climate change adaptation - strengthening community resilience, and
  *   climate justice - addressing the disproportionate impacts of climate change on low-income communities and communities of color.
Climate Action Plan is a framework document for measuring, tracking, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adopting climate adaptation measures.

National Climate Action Strategy: Strategy Implementation Survey

The American Library Association (ALA<https://www.ala.org/>) and Sustainable Libraries Initiative (SLI)<https://www.sustainablelibrariesinitiative.org/> have partnered to create a National Climate Action Strategy for U.S. Libraries. In order to inform this strategy and expedite the implementation of the strategy in libraries, ALA and SLI are seeking feedback from the field. The results will inform the implementation section of the strategy document which is scheduled to be released in June 2024 at the ALA Annual Conference<https://2024.alaannual.org/> in San Diego, CA.

This survey is intended for library leaders. The Working Group identifies library leaders as ALL library workers and trustees given each person's sphere of influence to make a difference on the topic of climate action.

The survey should take 8-10 minutes to complete. It will remain open until Friday, April 5, 2024. Instructions are provided at the end of the survey on how to enter the drawing for one of two National Parks Annual Passes provided by the ALA Sustainability Round Table.
