Black Information Futures Symposium planned

The Black Information Futures Symposium will take place February 21-23, 2026, at the University of Washington Information School in Seattle, WA.

Scholars, artists, writers, activists, designers, technologists, administrators, and policy makers are invited to propose short papers, presentations, demonstrations, or performances that examine, forecast, inform, alter, or revise notions of Black futurity or the "Black Information Future" which the symposium loosely defines as the ability of Black people to gain equitable analog and digital access to the information and information technologies needed to achieve and sustain social agency, authorship, educational attainment, economic mobility, environmental responsiveness and stewardship, and collective well-being.
