It was great seeing everyone at OLA 2014 in Salem. I hope everyone is enjoying this brief blast of good weather as well. OLA 2014 The LibTech Roundtable co-sponsored a host of great sessions during the conference and the materials are now available for all to see on Northwest Central: - UX Bootcamp/Librarians as Designers - Open Source in Oregon Libraries - Maker Spaces: Make My Day or Break My Space? - Social Media For Professional Engagement Elections It?s time for our 2014 election, and we want you to stand for office! This is a great chance to get involved with OLA and become part of a relatively new round table. Officers needed are Secretary and Vice Chair/Chair-Elect. If you are willing to serve, please email Elsa Loftis (libtechrt at gmail.com) by end of business, May 16th, with the following information: 1) The office you?ll run for 2) Name of your organization/workplace 3) Your title 4) A brief (2-4 sentence) description of you and your interest in library technology The slate of nominations will be sent out the week of May 19th, and voting will take place in a two week window shortly after. New officers will be announced in early to mid-June. You will need to be a member of LibTechRT to run for an office and to vote. In this introductory eCourse, librarian, consultant and Drupal expert Ken Varnum will give participants the know-how to get a library website up and running.
