Description
This training will cover the dominant societal assumptions around gender and sex and how those assumptions are enshrined in our culture and structures. Through group discussion they will guide attendees to gain a new understanding of gender and sex that validates transgender people and their identities. This will give the participants a strong lens on how to be more inclusive within the workplace and help start changing these dominant assumptions. They will cover many topics specific to the workplace including usage of correct names and pronouns, confidentiality, access to gendered facilities, correcting one's own mistakes and others, and many more. The presentation will close with a discussion on specific actions participants and their teams can take in the short, medium, and longer terms to incorporate these new behaviors to best support transgender people in the workplace.
