The LYRASIS Licensing and Strategic Partnerships Team is hosting a three-part interactive webinar series for our members about Open Content this fall to share our perspectives in this dynamic space and to listen to yours. We’d also like to encourage a group response in honor of Open Access week in late October (details forthcoming). LYRASIS provides significant support for a variety of Open Content initiatives and services, and we would like to “work out loud” with our members this fall. We hope to have in-depth conversations about the Open movement, including ethical considerations, the challenges of adoption and implementation, the advantages of Open Content, and more. These sessions are designed to be discussion groups, rather than lectures. We want to spend less time presenting, and more time listening to learn how our members are engaging within the Open Content space.

The times, registration links, and session descriptions are below. Interested members can sign up for all three sessions at once here: Register for all 3 webinars<http://www.lyrasis.org/Pages/EventDetail.aspx?Eid=B00AAD7E-FE9D-E711-80E1-00155D73CF16>, or sign up separately for the individual sessions, with links to registration below. These sessions will be recorded, and links to the recordings will be shared on this list.

**Please note that we would like as many responses to the companion survey (3-5 minutes) for each session as possible, even from those who will not be able to attend.

Webinar 1: What is the Open Content Movement and Why Does it Matter?
October 5, 1:00 PM EST

This first session is designed to be an interactive introduction to the Open Content movement. We will begin by looking at the dizzying landscape of terms used to describe Open Content, and what each of them means. Later in the session we will open the audio channels for participants and discuss questions such as:

· Why should we care?

· Why is it important?

· What are your concerns about the movement?

· What questions do you have about LYRASIS’ role in the Open Content space?

The survey to provide input prior to Session 1 can be found here: Survey 1<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/76GZ6KP>. All are welcome to provide responses, even if you are not able to attend the webinar.

Webinar 2: Your Library/Museum/Archive and the Open Content Movement
October 25, 1:00 PM EST

The second session is designed to allow members to share how they are participating in the Open Content movement. Participants will take a brief survey about Open Content within their organizations prior to the webinar, and the responses will be used to inform the discussion. We will also encourage participants to share their experiences during the live session. Topics we hope to cover include:

· What is the library/museum/archive role in the Open Content movement within your institution?

· How can we think globally and act locally?

· Repeal, Repair, Replacement of the legacy content publishing models: What is the most likely future for Open Content?

The survey to provide input prior to Session 2 can be found here: Survey 2<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9KZWXRR>. All are welcome to provide responses, even if you are not able to attend the webinar.

Webinar 3: How Connected Are the Futures of Libraries/Museums/Archives and the Open Content Movement?
November 16, 1:00 PM EST

The third session is designed to discuss the role of Open Content within our organizations with a look towards the future. We plan on briefly hearing perspectives from several Open Content leaders from around the world. Participants will also take a brief survey about how their institution plans to participate in the open content movement over time, which will inform the discussion. Topics we hope to cover include:

· What does the future of our organizations look like if we are not deeply connected with Open Content?

· How will the US connect with other countries in this global movement?

The survey to provide input prior to Session 3 can be found here: Survey 3<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/9VMPG6M>. All are welcome to provide responses, even if you are not able to attend the webinar.
