[NWDigitalProjects] Northwest Digital Heritage adds 40, 000 records to DPLA

The Northwest Digital Heritage<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d2dca-313553c2-454455534531-f365a77cead7ab64&q=1&e=ce88ff17-d890-4945-a818-d9d75a4c14ed&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nwdigitalheritage.org%2F> DPLA service hub recently added 40,000 records to the Digital Public Library of America for its January harvest.

New content includes:

  *   Eighteen digital collections from the Seattle's Museum of Flight. These include everything from the earliest photos of "heavier-than-air" flight in Washington State<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d2dca-313553c2-454455534531-e41a6dab83c1bfae&q=1&e=ce88ff17-d890-4945-a818-d9d75a4c14ed&u=https%3A%2F%2Fdigitalcollections.museumofflight.org%2Fitems%2Fbrowse%3Fcollection%3D469>, to a 1940s-era photo of African-American "Rosie the Riveters"<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d2dca-313553c2-454455534531-f8280f148e8a8fcb&q=1&e=ce88ff17-d890-4945-a818-d9d75a4c14ed&u=https%3A%2F%2Fdigitalcollections.museumofflight.org%2Fitems%2Fshow%2F36682> in front of Boeing B-29 Superfortress, to a film depicting the extremely cute 1968 Aerocar III<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d2dca-313553c2-454455534531-51ca8fbd6d215efa&q=1&e=ce88ff17-d890-4945-a818-d9d75a4c14ed&u=https%3A%2F%2Fdigitalcollections.museumofflight.org%2Fitems%2Fshow%2F48217> (a car that could be converted to a plane).


  *   Twenty one new digital collections from the Oregon Historical Society Research Library. Highlights include:
     *   The Works Progress Administration era work of photographer Minor White<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d2dca-313553c2-454455534531-e16558ad0af3fd6f&q=1&e=ce88ff17-d890-4945-a818-d9d75a4c14ed&u=https%3A%2F%2Fdigitalcollections.ohs.org%2Forg-lot-52-minor-white-negatives>, who documented much of Portland's downtown and waterfront..
     *   1960s-era photos from Valley Migrant League<https://protect2.fireeye.com/v1/url?k=31323334-501d2dca-313553c2-454455534531-307323bb12cf6674&q=1&e=ce88ff17-d890-4945-a818-d9d75a4c14ed&u=https%3A%2F%2Fdigitalcollections.ohs.org%2Forg-lot-74-valley-migrant-league-photographs>, a nonprofit which advocated for migrant farm laborers in the Willamette Valley.


  *   Over 29,000 electronic state publications from the Washington State Library's collections.
