April 2022 is a big month for the National Archives–the 1950 Census will be released to the public! Seventy-two years ago, 42,000 census takers walked the rural roads and city streets of US states, territories, and military installations abroad. Now the public will be able to access these records online!


To celebrate this important records release, the theme of our Archives Hashtag Party on Friday, April 8, will be #ArchivesOnMyStreet as we look back at where we have lived.


Let’s celebrate our neighbors and neighborhoods! Share maps, photos of then and now, snaps of the street your institution is located on, famous landmarks, historic footage, time capsules, memories of famous neighborhood personalities, family photos, or other glimpses into the past.
