This week, a Colorado parent group announced it is suing the state library
consortium with allegations that EBSCO databases in schools provide access
to "substantial amounts of easily accessible, hardcore pornography".

The Denver Post has an article here:

rado-library-consortium/.

Most libraries subscribe to databases that enable access to thousands of
scholarly and popular news, magazine, and journal articles and e-books for
research projects. The State Library of Oregon currently has a statewide
service contract with Gale for statewide database services.

It will be interesting to see if the Colorado case has any merit, and if so,
how content providers respond.
