Bend Oktoberfest Hunt
The first ever Bend Oktoberfest Hunt has been a success! The scavenger hunt runs from September 3-16. In order to get clues people have to follow the Bend Oktoberfest Facebook Page or the Downtown Bend, Oregon Instagram profile. Every day there's three to five clues released in the afternoon that hint to where the chicken hats are. We're giving out prizes for someone who finds all 15 chicken hats, who has the most creative photo, or the cutest chicken dance video. The hunt winners will be announced on September 19th.

Stein Holding Preliminaries

We've had two Stein Holding Prelim's so far and they've been very successful as well! It's the first year we've done this and it's nice to see so many people come out and participate! It will help the final Stein Hold Competition be smoother at Oktoberfest. The top three winners at each prelim wins an Oktoberfest Stein and beer tokens. They will compete Friday, September 22, at 5pm. So far the one to beat is a woman who held her stein for six minutes! A big thank you for Bend Brewing and 10 Barrel for hosting us! The next events will be at Silver Moon Brewing on September 8th and both Sunriver location September 11 & 12.

Bend Oktoberfest Volunteers Needed

The DBBA – August News

The DBBA staff has been busy planning Oktoberfest and all pre-event Oktoberfest festivities, raising funds for Downtown Bend is our number one goal, and Oktoberfest historically provides us with the budget. We're really excited about the new changes this year! Make sure you join us September 21st & 22nd to support Downtown Bend.

The Source is releasing the Bend Oktoberfest Event Guide on September 13th. Here's a preview of the cover! Inside you'll have the beer and wine menu, a map of the event, and a schedule of what's going on at the Main Stage and the Irving Arena on both days. We'll also be passing out the guide to everyone who attends Oktoberfest.

The DBBA has been working hard with the City of Bend and Bend Police Department and Security Pros to increase safety in Downtown Bend over the summer months. We're really pleased with the results and we've had great reviews from business and building owners. One of the newest additions is the Bend PD substation at the bottom of the Bend Parking Garage. If you have any suggestions or feedback about security or safety in Downtown, please let us know!
