I’ve used the app as a “visitor” a few times, and have worked with Distrx to take control of our district. I’m all set up, and just haven’t had a chance to get back to it to manage the district information, businesses, etc. I’ll let you know how it works!

Create fun, interactive fundraisers for your Main Street

As you look ahead to the coming year, we hope you will include your Main Street’s free mobile app in your plans for community events. Many of you have already seen how easy it is to add your historic and art walking tours, and tour participant comments show that your visitors love the ability to take the tour anytime they like, scroll through historic pictures and listen to an engaging audio narration. No need for expensive printed maps and brochures!

Now imagine that same type of engagement with fun, creative events, using your mobile app to make your visitors active participants, using their own mobile device for a themed scavenger or treasure hunt with content you control and that you can use again whenever you like. We call these “apptivities”, and they make perfect “funraiser$”. Creative clues lead contestants to participating local merchants. When they arrive at each business, their phone alerts with directions to perform an action, answer a question or receive another piece of the puzzle, moving them closer to the treasure hidden somewhere in your downtown or qualifying them for a prize drawing. It’s a great way to drive traffic to your merchants and provides an opportunity to showcase their businesses.

You might choose to use your app for an existing event or create an apptivity completely unique to your community, one that can grow to an annual event. Consider a Cupid’s Quest for Valentine’s Day, a clever St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun hiding a pot of gold, solving a Mystery on Main Street, or a search for the legendary Lost Treasure of your Main Street. Whatever backstory you create, participants will enjoy playing the game, visiting your amazing local merchants and competing to win prizes and other recognition. Should you choose to charge to participate, your apptivity will be a great interactive funraiser, one you can repeat anytime you like.

Your mobile app is completely free for your Main Street and all of your local businesses. Adding apptivities and walking tours involves a one-time setup fee, then our technology brings it to life, ensuring participants physically visit all stops and complete all tasks, providing Executive Directors a list of participants. Most importantly, a fun interactive apptivity creates powerful word-of-mouth marketing for future events.

For more information on apptivities, Contact Us, and let us help you create effective funraiser$ for your Main Street.

If you haven't claimed your free mobile app, what are you waiting for? Contact us, and yes, it really is FREE! There is no cost to your Main Street or your local businesses.
Let's get started!
