[Or-srp] Summer reading: Arlene Weible is interim contact at the State Library

As most of you know, today is my last day at the State Library. Please contact Arlene Weible (503-378-5020, arlene.weible at state.or.us<mailto:arlene.weible at state.or.us>) regarding the summer reading program. She will be your summer reading key contact at the State Library until the new Youth Services Consultant is hired.

Seeing so many of you start adult summer reading programs, shift from summer reading to summer learning and STEM, give away more books instead of toys, and increase your outreach to underserved populations-especially to free Summer Food Service Program sites-has been one of the most rewarding parts of being the Youth Services Consultant. You're doing such great work, and I'm excited to apply what I've learned from you at WCCLS!

For those of you who haven't heard about my departure... I've been at the State Library for over a decade and it's time for me to continue my career in a new place with fresh challenges. I've loved my work and colleagues at the State Library. There aren't many jobs like it. Therefore, I tossed my hat into the ring for the Youth Services position at Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS). My first day at WCCLS is October 2, 2017.
