The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking qualified candidates for two permanent full time Accountant 2 positions. These positions are located in Salem, OR.

Scope of the Position
Accounting functions - Use the Statewide Financial Management Application (SFMA) or subsidiary systems to perform accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract payables, grants, payroll garnishments, cash receipting, account and systems reconciliations. May reconcile accounts, initiate corrections, and make adjusting entries.

Reporting and analysis - Perform accounting analysis and research accounting issues. Prepare various financial reports (may include grant and management reports). May respond to external requests for accounting data.

Other functions - Provide mentoring and support to lower level professional accounting staff. Participate in process improvement activities related to work area.
Individuals selected for this position may be rotated to perform Accountant 2 functions in various units within the Office of Financial Services (OFS) including, but not limited to; Cash Receipting, Reconciliations, Grant Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and System Interface. This will provide the individual with a global OFS view and the ability to gain a broad base of accounting skills.
