Good afternoon Staff,

Due to workload demands, we are relaunching our search for a highly-qualified candidate to fill our essential full-time, permanent, Accountant and Fiscal Coordinator (Accountant 3) position.

What would you be doing?
This position is responsible for:

  *   Preparing the department's annual CAFR, and SEFA reports along with other financial reports as required by DAS or the Agency's federal funding partners;
  *   Grant reconciliations, department-wide accounting oversight, completion of the annual Indirect Cost Rate (ICR), and collaboration with the department's Accountant 1 in performing daily transaction processing;
  *   Conducting informal audit reviews of department grant programs and processes to evaluate compliance with internal controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Salary: $4,307 - $6,727 Monthly

We are anticipating a late October/early November start date.

What We Are Looking For:
A CPA certificate and two additional years of professional accounting experience.
OR
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and four years of professional accounting experience.

The most successful candidates will possess the following skills and experience:

  *   Familiarity with the Statewide Financial Management Application (R*STARS and ADPICS).
  *   Understanding of complex statewide financial management systems and data processing fundamentals.
  *   Ability to communicate at the professional level with attention to grammar and spelling.
  *   Time management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet numerous deadlines with frequent interruptions in their daily work schedules.
  *   Proficient in the use of a variety of programs and software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Mainframe, and IR Studio/Brio.
  *   Previous experience creating and modifying training materials. In addition, experience hosting and providing training or technical support.

  *   Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted. College credit in accounting and related courses will be approved towards meeting the minimum qualifications.
  *   Preference will be given for a CPA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  *   If you hold a current CPA certificate, and are using your certificate to meet the minimum qualifications, verification of your CPA number and correlating information may be requested.
