South Beach Boat Ramp Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony -February 25

              The Port of Newport is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed boarding float replacement project at the South Beach boat ramp on Monday, February 25 beginning at 11 am.  The ceremony will take place at the launch ramp, located at 2120 SE Marine Science Drive, in Newport.
            Officials from the Port Commission and the Oregon State Marine Board will be in attendance.
            In April 2012, the Port of Newport was awarded $91,906 in state boater funds, combined with $15,537 in applicant cash and $47,923 in force account labor and equipment from the Port for a total project cost of $155,366.
            Yaquina Bay is a popular fishing destination and gateway to the Pacific Ocean.  The new boarding floats will provide boaters with a more safe and secure platform to load and unload their boats and will provide many years of service for the four-lane concrete launch ramps.
