Hi,
“As libraries continue their mission to become community cornerstones, there is a new spirit of cooperation between public and school libraries. Nowhere is this more evident than in Nashville, where Nashville Public Library and Metro Nashville Public Schools have partnered to create the Limitless Libraries cooperative to improve school libraries, resource sharing, and student access to learning materials.” Learn about that project by attending the 12/15 webinar (Noon Pacific) or registering anyway to be notified when the recording is available.

As an aside, Oklahoma’s Metropolitan [Public] Library System recently partnered with Oklahoma City Public Schools to create OneCard, which allows students to use their school-issued student ID to access public library materials.

Oregon has some public and school library materials cooperative models, too. For example, Deschutes Public Library’s Library Linx program is a “partnership between Deschutes County schools and the Deschutes Public Library [that] provides the opportunity for students and teachers to place holds on public library materials and have the materials delivered to their school.”
