Don't miss this opportunity to see Jason Reynolds speak during the OASL Fall Conference at Jesuit High School on Saturday, October 14th. The event starts at 7:00 pm, and Jason will sign books afterwards.

If you work within a reasonable drive of Jesuit HS, please let your middle and high school patrons know about this. Perhaps even hang up posters. Student tickets are $10 each, while tickets for adults are $20 each.

Hello OASL Members and Friends,

OASL members and friends are invited to “An Evening with Jason Reynolds” on Saturday, October 14th at Jesuit High School. Tickets are $20/adults and $10/students and can be purchased at bit.ly/OASL17. We are so lucky to have a Young Adult author of Reynold’s caliber speaking at our OASL Conference and evening event.

Last year I had the chance to hear Jason Reynolds speak at Wordstock in Portland and I was mesmerized by his eloquent style and gentle nature. This is an event where you are going to want to invite your fellow teachers, students, and families to attend. His books are geared towards both Middle and High School so make sure you talk up his books before this event.

Here is a promotional idea:  Teen Read Week occurs the week before the OASL Fall Conference.  I am hosting a #SunsetReads event in my Library to share award winning books.  Of course, Jason Reynold’s books will be the highlight of the event.  I approached our PTO about sponsoring tickets to the “Evening with Jason Reynolds” and so now students who attend the event will have a chance to win one of the 20 student tickets our PTO purchased. Yeah for the PTO!!!
