Hi all,



I am the booktalk specialist at Jackson County Library Services in Southern Oregon. I wanted to let folks know about our library's Booktalk Blog. I'm hoping it will be a good resource for those of you who are looking for book suggestions for your tween readers, anyone who wants to become more familiar with recent middle-grade titles, and library staff who want to do booktalks but don't have time to start from scratch.



I do booktalks for 4th-7th graders in our area, and I post the full booktalk and a short commentary of the best titles on the Booktalk Blog (www.jclsbooktalkblog.org<http://www.jclsbooktalkblog.org/>). I recently scheduled a new series of posts--a new title will be available every Tuesday through the end of September. Last week was one of my favorites (The Dragon with a Chocolate Heart by Stephanie Burgis), and next week will feature Tentacle and Wing by Sarah Porter, a science-fiction title that many kids hadn't heard about but were super excited to read.



I'd be happy to connect with any of you who are doing a lot of booktalking, or who want to try it out!
