Hello Summer Reading folks,
CSLP has ended their Demco contract and has a bit more flexibility for the summer reading artwork next year (see below). If you have any questions about the revised Rules of Use for the CSLP artwork, please let me and Luke know. (It helps me keep track of what you need to know!)
Best,

Subject: [Statereps] Rules of Use: Revised 7/3/2019
Hello State Reps!
The committee has concluded its work, legal counsel has reviewed, and the Board has approved. We now have a newly revised Rules of Use!
https://www.cslpreads.org/membership-information/rules-of-use/
Because we have ended our "Exclusive Vendor" contract with Demco, and because we now own the illustrations, we are able to be a lot more flexible with how librarians can use our slogans and artwork.
To communicate the highlights of the revision, I have written this short statement. I encourage you to share it (or some variant of it) with your libraries. We want everyone to fully leverage the freedoms granted by the new rule set.

Get more out of the 2020 CSLP artwork!
CSLP has revised its Rules of Use and has granted more freedom to its member libraries! Starting in 2020 libraries can:
* Use CSLP artwork and slogans on any paper good including; bookmarks, posters, reading certificates, newsletters, press releases, and activity sheets. If it is printed on paper, you can create it!
* Use CSLP artwork as long as you like! Member libraries no longer have to worry about pulling images from their websites after the program year. All CSLP artwork created after 2017 can be used indefinitely!
* Use CSLP artwork and slogans on any "one-of-a-kind" item. Paint the slogan on the library's windows? Yes! Create a quilt based on the artwork? Yes! Use your topiary skills and transform the library's hedge into one of the characters from a CSLP poster? Absolutely, and please send photos!
* The revised Rules of Use can be found here: https://www.cslpreads.org/membership-information/rules-of-use/

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask!
Thank you,
Luke
