Hi,

I wanted to give you one more reminder about registering for the OASL Fall Conference since the price goes up by $20 after October 1st. The conference is October 11th and 12th at Taft High School in Lincoln City.

Besides the great author and illustrator line-up detailed below, there be Friday workshops<https://sites.google.com/oasl.olaweb.org/oasl2019/schedule/preconference-sessions> on culturally responsive teaching, book repair, and elementary and secondary booktalks. Plus there are many Saturday sessions<https://sites.google.com/oasl.olaweb.org/oasl2019/schedule/saturday-sessions> to choose from, including digital literacy, coding, copyright, booktalking tips, and Project LIT.

Can’t make it to the entire conference? There are options to participate<https://sites.google.com/oasl.olaweb.org/oasl2019/registration> on just Friday or just Saturday and to only attend the evening keynotes.

If you plan to go, be sure to download the Sched app<https://sched.com/sched-app/> and look for OASL 2019.

All library staff are welcome, as well as anyone else who is interested.

Hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Jen

Subject: [oasl-all] A great author/illustrator line-up for Lincoln City!

Hello OASL Friends!

You won’t want to miss this year’s conference in Lincoln City!

There’s a fabulous line-up of authors and illustrators to inspire you!

At Friday night's dessert, we'll open the conference with Jonathan Hill<http://www.oneofthejohns.com/>, a Portland-based artist whose illustrations have most recently been featured in the promotional campaign for the 2019 Portland Book Festival. Hill also works with students in writer residency programs throughout the metro area.

During Saturday morning's author breakfast, we will have a round table conversation with Jonathan Hill, Barbara Herkert<http://www.barbaraherkert.com/> (illustrator of A Boy, A Mouse and A Spider: The Story of E.B. White), Katherine Roy<http://katherineroy.com/#&panel1-3> ([author and] illustrator of How to Be an Elephant), and Librarygirl, Jennifer LaGarde<https://www.librarygirl.net/>.

And, after Saturday night's Awards Banquet, a special keynote from Jennifer LaGarde will close things out.

Limited copies of each author's books will be available for purchase. If you have a specific title you want to make sure to have signed by the author, consider purchasing a copy ahead of time at your local bookshop.

Sign up for the conference<https://sites.google.com/oasl.olaweb.org/oasl2019/registration> today! It promises to be an exciting and inspiring literary experience.

See you at the beach!

Molly Sloan
