I missed shouting out libraries last week so I’m going to do two today!

  1.  Jackson County is partnering with the Southern Oregon Historical Society<https://www.heraldandnews.com/members/limelighter/chinese-labor-and-railroads-a-focus-of-windows-in-time-lecture-series/article_108cb01d-926c-5b79-819e-1061dc554a0b.html> for a virtual program on railroad building & Chinese laborers in Southern Oregon in the 1880s.
  2.  Coos Bay Public Library & North Bend Public Library are partnering with the Coos History Museum<https://theworldlink.com/news/unlimited-book-club-to-meet-dec-10/article_23efec2e-29d4-11eb-a69a-9f074bdae0b0.html> to host online discussions around equity, diversity, and inclusion. Their December read is Isabel Wilkerson’s new work: Caste: the Origin of Our Discontents<https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/653196/caste-oprahs-book-club-by-isabel-wilkerson/> (Her work The Warmth of Other Suns<https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/Isabel-Wilkerson-65858/the-warmth-of-other-suns/> is also stellar if you haven’t read that one yet.)

Thanks to these libraries and to all of you for keeping the work going – continuing in social distancing ways to bring people together to learn about our community history and how we will move forward for the future is such a critically important part of the work we all do in libraries.
