Subject: [t3] D.C. Public Library: Teen's Corner with Marley Dias

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share with you all an exciting teen-lead virtual program we are hosting here at D.C. Public Library. Our Teen Council had the opportunity to interview Marley Dias,<https://www.forbes.com/sites/maggiemcgrath/2017/06/13/from-activist-to-author-how-12-year-old-marley-dias-is-changing-the-face-of-childrens-literature/#7a2fef7c4ce0> the founder of the #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign, author of Marley Dias Gets It Done... and So Can You! <https://catalog.dclibrary.org/client/en_US/dcpl/search/detailnonmodal/ent:$002f$002fSD_ILS$002f0$002fSD_ILS:966877/ada?qu=marley+dias&d=ent%3A%2F%2FSD_ILS%2F0%2FSD_ILS%3A966877%7EILS%7E1&h=8> , and now the host of a new Netflix show, Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuLk5Kx5mVw>.

For more information, including how and where to watch the program, click here.<https://www.dclibrary.org/node/67483>

While we prepped the Council, the questions are entirely their own. We have found that the interview/panel format has been a great way to allow teens to explore their interests and spearhead programs in the virtual world.

I hope you are able to check out the event. If you any questions about it, let me know!
