Hello everyone,

I can't believe it's almost the end of September. I want to shoutout some folks on the east side for promoting banned books week<https://www.hermistonherald.com/news/local/area-libraries-bookstores-celebrate-banned-book-week/article_65600efe-1a4d-11ec-a2db-b3cbeaf71611.html> - thanks for your work, Mark, Susie, and Kathy! I especially appreciated the banned book storywalk. What a great idea to help families interact with the concepts around intellectual freedom. I know many of you are celebrating banned books week in your libraries - thank you for your work on this!

Speaking of intellectual freedom, you are still welcome to attend any or all of the Youth Services Summit<https://www.csdola.org/youth-services-summit.html>, which includes time with OLA Intellectual Freedom Committee members Miranda Doyle and Kat Temple to practice handling when challenging conversations arise.
