Libraries of Eastern Oregon and the State Library of Oregon are pleased to announce the following free online training from Basic Rights Oregon: Transgender Inclusion and Affirmation in the Workplace.

This LGBTQIA2S+ Inclusion training from Basic Rights Oregon will support attendees as they begin their work toward creating a more affirming workplace for all LGBTQIA2S+ coworkers, clients, and more specifically the transgender community. The two goals for this training are to improve LGBTQIA2S+ people's experiences among their organization or community and to educate people on how to create a safer and more affirming place for all. This training will focus on developing the language and understanding attendees may need to engage with LGBTQIA2S+ people in a validating and inclusive way.

The training will take place on Tuesday, June 28, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm via Zoom and space is limited to 50 participants. All Oregon library workers, regardless of geography, library type, or location, are welcome to attend.
