Hello!

I signed up for the upcoming week for the OYAN Listserve and I would like
to post some information about ORCA winners and the ORCA nomination form.
If you want to make any changes to this, please feel free!

SUBJECT: Oregon Reader’s Choice Award - This Year’s Winners PLUS Nominate
Titles Now!

Hi all,

Now is a great time to promote this year's Oregon Reader's Choice Award
Nominees and Winners!

Here's a PDF
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/10mGybNNR1zBWfP0a4xRcLtHViXFIcO4n/view?pli=1>
for the complete list for all grade level divisions, or visit the ORCA page
on the OLA website <https://www.olaweb.org/orca> for slide decks, printable
spine labels, and more information about ORCA.

The ORCA committee also needs your help suggesting books to be considered
for next year. This Nomination Form <https://forms.gle/D4YKjdYxdr9ir4Z99>
is open through the end of December for any students or adults who work in
an Oregon school and/or library. All students in grades 3-12 who read or
listen to at least two of the books will qualify to vote in March-April,
2024.

What makes a great nomination? The ORCA Committee strives to select
well-rounded lists featuring books that are of high quality and interest to
their readers and represent diversity in perspective, authorship, and
content. Books can be part of a series, but ideally, it will be the first
in the sequence. Additionally, the book must have been first published in
the United States in 2022 and readily available.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the ORCA Committee at orca at olaweb.org!
