[OYAN] Friday, July 28th Shoutout

Hello everyone,

Happy Friday! I've been on the road a lot the past few weeks and have so appreciated spending time in person with some of you - Seeing summer reading events in person was so lovely - In Creswell, I watched kids of all ages enjoy making slime in the park. In Harrisburg, a group of tweens were all over the public computers and the couches, joking with library staff. In Yoncalla, I saw kids get so excited about taking a book of their own home with them. In Winston, kids were ecstatic to be part of the story as a balloon animal maker added creature after creature to a tale of adventure. These were very brief glimpses of the immense work and effort you all have put into making sure kids have spaces and places to be in the summer, to have fun with each other and their families, to know they are important members of the community. Often the work we do is so intangible, but it is also so very critical for the health of our communities. Thank you so much for all you do to make your libraries welcoming, joyful, and engaging spaces for families!
