Hi everyone,

Whew, we made it to another Friday! Per usual, a lot is happening and there’s a lot to celebrate:

  * Adams is getting new shelves<https://elkhornmediagroup.com/grant-boosts-adams-public-library-shelf-space-allowing-for-more-community-resources/>! If you’ve never been, Adams may have the smallest footprint of any Oregon library, but also one of the biggest hearts!
  * The community food pantry at Helix<https://www.facebook.com/HelixPublicLibrary/posts/pfbid032YEb9dFaWDabGjmzUruu5XsiqiiPT8NusQMWofBWy869UmFra1cxfS4PkLWBaw87l> is up and running
  * An old co-worker now at King County Library System (in Washington) points out how kid librarians have everything you may ever need<https://www.facebook.com/reel/24615357704832967>
  * McMinnville staff highlight their favorite thing from the Library of Things<https://www.facebook.com/reel/1405718894247254>
  * Newberg has a new Teen space sign<https://www.facebook.com/newberglibrary/posts/pfbid0snJMCEsx6DuUuvr3yURwFftWA8Pirmop4Se2xpMaaMC1ESzqZbkTrZmkSgTHGvtLl>
  * Woodburn got both an ALA grant and a Carnegie building grant<https://woodburnindependent.com/2025/11/10/woodburn-library-museum-receive-24k-in-grants-to-boost-english-history-education/>

And a huge shoutout to Cedar Mill Library’s Mark Richardson, Teen Services Manager, for the Beaverton School District Believe Promise award<https://www.facebook.com/BeavertonSchoolDistrict/videos/1846590046244078/> he received last week for his work at Stoller Middle School. What an honor for a school district to recognize all of Mark’s efforts!

I know there are many more Marks among our libraries who aren’t awarded, and we see you too. Thanks so much for the work you continue to do to make your communities a better place. I’m heading out of the office for the holiday today, and I wish you all time to rest, relax, and enjoy good company this coming week.

Best,
Greta
P.S. If you are a library needing help to log into your 2026 Ready to Read report, Tamara or Ross is happy to help you while I’m gone! 😊 I’ve cc’d them both here.
