Dear Public Library Directors:

I'm forwarding the following email / request in the hopes that all public libraries (large, medium, or small, urban, rural, or suburban) will take a few moments to participate the survey below. Thanks for your time!

Hi everyone,

It's that time again to share your thoughts and experiences.

You've likely heard about the Edge Initiative<http://www.libraryedge.org/>, a collaborative effort to create benchmarks for public access technology, where benchmarks and resources combine to help libraries of all sizes drive investment and spark continuous improvement toward technology services. TechSoup is part of the effort, and we're asking libraries to help us create resources that work for everyone.

To do that, we need your thoughts on how the benchmarks might work in your library. Each month we're posting a 2-question survey to capture your thoughts. It's very important that rural and small libraries have a big voice in this project. Please take a moment to let us know what you think about one benchmark: http://svy.mk/RIW9oI

(And register to win a prize!)

Also, learn what your colleagues have to say about rural libraries and the Edge Initiative:

* Dwight McInvaill, Director of Georgetown County Public Library, Georgetown, SC: http://www.techsoupforlibraries.org/blog/the-edge-initiative-and-small-and-rural-libraries

* Bill Young, Public Information Officer, Oklahoma Dept. of Libraries: http://www.techsoupforlibraries.org/blog/small-libraries-on-the-edge

Thanks much, and hope to see you in Raleigh!
