The State Library is looking for new members to serve on the Answerland Advisory Committee (AAC).

Efforts will be made to keep a balance of representation from both type of library and geographic region. Based on current membership, special consideration will be given to nominees from school, community college, and tribal libraries as well as those libraries from rural communities and from the eastern side of the state.

Nominations are being accepted online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3L8LD9L.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 29, 2016, 5:00 pm. For more information, please read further.

About Answerland and the AAC
Answerland<https://www.answerland.org/> is Oregon's statewide virtual reference service. The oversight of Answerland was transitioned from Multnomah County Library to the State Library on July 1, 2015. As part of the process, Answerland's former Advisory Board<https://www.answerland.org/advisory-board> is being reformed as the Answerland Advisory Committee under the State Library's LSTA Council<http://www.oregon.gov/osl/LD/Pages/lstacouncil.aspx#lstacouncil.aspx>.

The State Library wishes the AAC to continue in the role of advising on the development, implementation, promotion and evaluation of Answerland. The ultimate vision is to create, maintain and continually improve a high-quality online reference program that succeeds in serving the needs of all residents of Oregon.

About Serving on the AAC
The State Library seeks representatives with experience and/or interest in virtual reference and collaborative library services, as well as a desire to reinvigorate and grow the Answerland program.

Initial terms begin July 1 2016, and can run for one, two, or three years (terms will be staggered to ensure the continuity of future membership).

Efforts will be made to keep a balance of representation from both type of library and geographic region. Based on current membership, special consideration will be given to nominees from school, community college, and tribal libraries.

Process and Timeline for Nominations
The deadline for nominations is Friday April 29, 5:00 pm. Self-nominations are encouraged. If you know someone who may be interested, please pass along this message.

Once confirmed, the slate of nominees will be presented by the State Library staff to the LSTA Council at their May 2016 meeting. Appointees will be notified by the State Library as soon as possible after the LSTA Council meeting.
