[PL-Directors] Broadband Grant Announcement: Submit Your Middle Mile Grant Application

Hello everyone,

I wanted to pass along this announcement in case your library and/or your community are looking for ways to address "middle mile" broadband infrastructure in your area.

(Middle mile: Local networks are important for bringing high-speed internet to communities. But local networks aren't enough. They need to connect to robust, high-capacity national and regional networks. Middle mile infrastructure makes this possible. By connecting to major networks, local networks can ensure reliable high-speed internet service for even the most remote communities.)

All Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program applications are due by Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. (EDT).

The Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program (MM) is a $1 billion grant program that will provide funding to expand middle mile infrastructure and reduce the cost of connecting unserved and underserved areas. MM will invest in the construction, improvement or acquisition of middle mile infrastructure.
