Hello,
The State Library is pleased to offer a great opportunity for you and your staff! Infopeople is offering an online, four-week course, Basic Cataloging and Classification<https://infopeople.org/civicrm/event/info?id=1040&reset=1>, from June 7, 2022, through July 4, 2022. We will register and pay registration for up to 15 Oregon library staff members to attend; the deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 25, 2022.<https://www.cognitoforms.com/StateLibraryOfOregon/BasicCatalogingAndClassificationOnlineCourse2022>
Eligibility:
This opportunity is available to:

  * Library staff from any public, academic, school, or tribal library in Oregon
  * Library staff that were previously employed at a public, academic, school, or tribal library in Oregon in the past two years and are currently unemployed
  *   Currently reside in Oregon

Due to the popularity of this course (nationally), eligible applicants will be approved on a first come, first served basis.
Participant Expectations:
In this self-directed course, participants will find weekly readings, useful resources, and practical assignments. Each week, learners will be expected to interact in the online discussion forums and complete an assignment.
To complete this course, learners can expect to spend 2 1/2 hours per week, for a total of ten course hours. Please do not apply if you cannot meet the time commitment.
Each week's module contains readings and various options for assignments. Learners can choose the options most relevant to their work and interests. Although learners can work on each module at their own pace, at any hour of the day or night, it is recommended that learners complete each week's work within that week to stay in sync with other participants.
Requirements:

  * Please note: Selected participants are required to complete coursework and submit the Certificate of Completion to the State Library. Failure to do so without notifying the State Library before the end of the course may impact participants eligibility in future State Library pre-paid learning events.

Complete course details are available on the Infopeople website<https://infopeople.org/civicrm/event/info?id=1040&reset=1>. Use this form<https://www.cognitoforms.com/StateLibraryOfOregon/BasicCatalogingAndClassificationOnlineCourse2022> to apply for pre-paid registration by May 25, 2022.
