[PL-Directors] CSD Seeks Chair 2025-2026

Hello colleagues, I’m writing to promote this opportunity.

I’m the supervisor to an extremely dedicated YS Librarian who has also been the OLA Children’s Services Chair this year. Jaime Thoreson is amazing, and also just one person. Jaime hasn’t had luck recruiting yet for her successor yet, and like so many volunteer-run organizations, CSD really needs an infusion of fresh volunteers to help it succeed.

I’m hoping you will encourage interested staff at your library to be a part of Oregon Library Association’s amazing Children’s Services Division. I know I’ve seen Jaime’s leadership skills increase ten-fold since she became more involved in OLA, and that helps our library and our community.

Co-chairs is also an option for two people to share the duties. The past chair also acts as a mentor to help new chairs be successful. Jaime will be at the OLA conference and I’m sure would love to chat with interested folks at the CSD table.
