Hello everyone,

2023 Ready to Read grant applications are currently open! You can apply anytime now through August 31st. All application materials, links, and instructions are available at the Ready to Read Guide<https://libguides.osl.state.or.us/readytoreadgrant/home>. You can begin your application in the online grants system<https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=slor> using the username and password you used last year.

  * If you've forgotten your password, click here<https://www.grantinterface.com/Home/Logon?urlkey=slor> to enter your e-mail address. Select the "Forgot Your Password" link and follow steps to change your password.
  * If you are not the correct person to receive this e-mail for your library, please let me know as soon as possible.
As many of you already know, Ready to Read grants are allocated based on a formula determined by the legislature assigning 80% of the grant based on the number of children 0-14 years old being served, and 20% based on the geographic area service boundaries, with a minimum amount of $1000. With the 2020 census data incorporated this year, and some libraries updating their geographic service boundaries, some grant amounts may look different than the past few years. We saw population growth in many counties. In some places it was more adult population growth, in others, more youth growth. You can view the 2023 preliminary grant amounts posted at the Ready to Read Guide linked above. If you have specific questions about your amount, please don't hesitate to reach out. Please also remember that this is not a final amount - if any libraries decide not to apply for their allocated amount, their allocation is redistributed among all applying libraries.

As questions come up throughout this process, please check our Ready to Read Guide linked above. I'm also hosting virtual office hours for any library staff working with Ready to Read:

  *   Friday, July 22nd, 9-10am
  *   Wednesday, July 27th, 4-5pm
  *   Friday, August 5th, 1-2pm
  *   Wednesday, August 17th, 8-9am

Virtual office hours will be at this Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3170707432 The meeting ID is: 317 070 7432. If you are unable to join from a computer, you can also call the following phone number 1-253-215-8782 and enter the meeting ID number to join via phone.

If you don't see the information you need at our Guide or the virtual meeting times don't work for you, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'm happy to set up a phone call or Zoom meeting with you and any other staff at your library involved in this grant. We appreciate all the work your library is doing to foster literacy for children and families. I look forward to seeing your 2023 Ready to Read applications!

Best,
Greta
