Hi everyone,
Whew - It's already October! Per usual, you all are busy bees out there, working to make good things happen for kids and families in your community:
* Beaverton will host a family resource fair<https://www.beavertonvalleytimes.com/news/check-out-the-beaverton-city-library-s-family-resource-fair/article_54069bb2-804f-11ef-9219-83da058c83e5.html> next weekend - it's a great season to share with your families and also to re-connect with community organizations to build relationships for future collaborations.
* Myrtle Creek shared their new lego table<https://www.facebook.com/FriendsofMyrtleCreekLibrary/posts/pfbid032TR6NCzzBbTuLE3iZnZWRC5bTJxF2XQvxmvTZKydyHXYFT3qFkJuX2jZgh6fnCLFl> built by local woodworkers, what a fun option for visitors. I have a nephew who would never move from that table if it was available to him.
* OMSI made the trek<https://www.lakecountyexam.com/lifestyles/omsi-portable-planetarium-comes-to-lakeview-library/article_06585f9c-79e0-11ef-ab83-fb5825b84b02.html> all the way out to Lake County. What a great way to learn more what you're looking at in the night sky - and I think Lake County may be my personal favorite place in Oregon to look at the stars, you can see so many there.
* Pendleton got a grant from Blue Mountain Early Learning<https://www.facebook.com/pendletonpubliclibrary/posts/pfbid02res9SUNaDTogkadYrgw82KCyx7gZJPU8DdEZU6HUiP3P9DuthP6pNNbVtKUwDL7Gl> hub to offer families attending multiple storytime local pool memberships - Awesome way to help build those weekly reading habits AND support another local resource at the same time and help families have a fun place to splash, play, and move together. Wins all around!
You are also doing a TON of banned books week programming/displays/work and I anticipate highlighting more of that next week - thanks so much for all you're doing and continue to do, and have a great weekend. I hope to see some of you at OASL tomorrow!
Best,
Greta
