From Nicole.Sprecher at oregon.gov Thu Nov 29 11:24:37 2018 From: Nicole.Sprecher at oregon.gov (SPRECHER Nicole * OPRD) Date: Thu, 29 Nov 2018 19:24:37 +0000 Subject: [Scenic-waterway] Potential Nehalem River State Scenic Waterway Designation Update Message-ID: You are receiving this message because you are on the Oregon Parks and Recreation Dept. Interested Parties list for the State Scenic Waterway Program. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission voted on Wednesday, Nov. 28 to postpone a decision on whether to recommend designation of a 17.5-mile segment of the Nehalem River as a state scenic waterway. They directed staff to gather more information on the possible effects of designation upstream from the study area, and will take the issue back up in February. This brief delay should not affect the original timeline, which already required a presentation to the Oregon Water Resources Commission in February to seek agreement on a designation recommendation to the Governor. The Parks Commission is expected to act in February in time for the Water Resources Commission meeting soon thereafter. We will send out another update before the February meeting.
