Oregon Enterprise Data Analytics is currently developing a user-friendly interface for the Oregon Social Policy Simulation<http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/BUSINESS-SERVICES/OFRA/OEDAdocs/Social%20Policy%20Simulation%20-%20Executive%20Summary.pdf> where decision-makers can compare scenarios and view results in dynamic data visualization displays.

What is the Oregon Social Policy Simulation?
The Oregon Enterprise Data Analytics Social Policy Simulation integrates nearly 100 formulas into a single tool, gives a holistic view of the financial supports available to Oregon's families in need. By entering basic household information decision-makers can see estimates for federal and state taxes, tax credits, and public assistance benefits. Since entering the information is simple, decision-makers can explore how many different events affect families' benefits, such as:

*         Gaining employment

*         Changes in hourly wages or number of hours worked

*         Changes in the number and/or age of dependents

*         Moving to a new part of Oregon

We would like to invite you to participate in usability testing for the Oregon Social Policy Simulation web application next week April 3rd -7th in the Human Services Building at 500 Summer Street NE in Salem, Oregon. The testing will take about 50 minutes to complete.

The purpose of the usability testing is to identify problems, learn how users interact with and think about the application, and listen to suggestions for improvements. We will use this feedback to improve the simulation ahead of its release on April 25th.
