Greetings!

TLDR: I'm asking for some help with a data display for CliftonStrengths data at the team level.

Feel free to delete this message if you find it an imposition. I'm sorry to have bothered you.

I'm writing with an opportunity for you to take on what may be an interesting challenge! I am not offering anything other than my appreciation and praise and would caution against taking this on during work hours without supervisory approval.

Attached you'll find a copy of a results file for a CliftonStrengths (formerly StrengthsFinder) survey for 17 members of a team. While the data are real, the names are fake.

The survey asks a number of questions and from the results identifies the top 5 of 34 strengths for each respondent. This is reported in sequential order (1-5). Given the nature of the survey and the resulting data, I would be more inclined to treat this as nominal data than as ordinal. In fact, those who have repeated the survey after time has passed have found their strengths have reordered while for some, one strength has dropped from the list and another taken its place. This leads one to believe this may not be a particularly precise measure, a situation common among social science measures. More information can be found at the CliftonStrengths<https://www.gallup.com/cliftonstrengths/en/home.aspx> website. You are also welcome to contact me if you think I can be of assistance.

The format used for display of these data is the one most common among those attempting to interpret the data. This works just fine for individuals but doesn't say much about the team. This leaves the team leader challenged to make any decisions about leading or supporting the team as a unit.

I've looked this over thoroughly and found my proposed solutions wanting.

The ask, then, is if you can conceive of a way to display the data so that the results can be interpreted to know something about the team rather than the individuals. This "something" should provide a driver for planning and discussions regarding the insights found in the data.

Thanks,
Jan
