I love a good keyboard trick to make my life easier when on the computer. One that is not included in the above, but if you share links in emails, social media, or websites, it's great. I use it almost every day.

Ctrl + K

This shortcut makes adding a link (a URL) faster. So when you're typing text ... and you want to link it to a page or post on the internet, instead of moving your mouse up to the Insert tab, and clicking on Link, just press Ctrl+K.

For Example...
·     Instead of typing: https://www.facebook.com/techtalkforyou/
·     You create meaningful text such as: Tech-Talk on Facebook<https://opiayfbab.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001hc__G_63vJHLoecQ2iPKuVS3imllPTGJ-EEqRoZsHBm5ymhxsSDpdlJn4SjhWyfk54IcYFOqbVI5tvXXzARmKxCq67h4UpEGTghukOgfKdTXNj-kOceMANijcS5hH7dZsxe_S6tkHF6cOYxYeC6c1b4kPQHW9ie0GCid2rBDXO4ujTx9JOZ6Eg==&c=USmw9q7nAfthf9oyHTQ6Jm1w-lG__2HsC2I0IeE3lda-UM79ExtaNQ==&ch=dMvHRPn3Hiq6_MMFqPkRQskqA-URlAtzJPYIKbiwpJyZoOV4tPFA2Q==> ... and paste the link behind the text to create the URL.

How to Use Ctrl + K

Instead of searching the different tool bars to add a link, you can open the dialogue box instantly with Ctrl + K.

Here's how:
1.  Highlight the text you want to turn into a link. (Instead of moving your mouse to find the link symbol.)
2.  Press Ctrl + K.
3.  In Text to display, put the words that you want to show.
4.  For Address, this is where to input the URL.
5.  Press OK.

Now your words become the link!

NOTE: You don't need to pay any attention to the blue-shaded areas or the two columns on the left ... just the boxes: Text to display and Address.
