Administrative Rules
Oregon Statutes authorize the Oregon State Library Board of Trustees to
adopt rules that clarify and implement the statutory authority provided in ORS 357.206 and 357.209. Oregon law defines "rule" as "any agency directive, standard, regulation or statement of general applicability that implements, interprets or prescribes law or policy, or describes the procedure or practice requirements of any agency." ORS 183.310(9).
Amendments and new rules are proposed and formulated by the Oregon State Library Board of Trustees. Notice of Hearing for the proposed rule changes is given at least 28 days prior to the actual date of the hearing. A public hearing is held, public comment is heard, and proposed rules are either adopted or rejected.
A public hearing on proposed changes to OAR 543.060 Oregon Statewide Reference Assistance Program and OAR 543.070 State Documents Depository Program will be held at the Oregon State Library on October 15, 2010 at 11:00 am. Comments may be sent to Jim Scheppke at jim.b.scheppke at state.or.us<mailto:jim.b.scheppke at state.or.us> Proposed changes can be found at:
