Please distribute this important announcement to your friends and colleagues who are involved with indigenous language programs.
Thanks to support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, tribal members who are engaged in language programs may apply for funding to attend the International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM 2015) in Washington, DC from September 9-15. Applicants who partner with archives, libraries, or museums receive priority. Scholarships range from $300 to $950. June 15 is the deadline for applying, with announcements made on or before July 1. The language programs offered at ATALM 2015 include a full-day Language Preservation Summit, a 1/2 day workshop, and more than 24 sessions and workshops. The programs are offered in partnership with the White House Initiative for American Indian and Alaska Native Education, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Native Americans, the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Indian Education, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Science Foundation, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Library of Congress Folklife Center. The goal of the expanded programming is to build and strengthen relationships between tribal language programs and archives, libraries, and museums,

  *   Early Bird Registration for ATALM 2015 is now open.  Registration rates are $250 for members and $275 for non-members.  Registration includes two breakfasts, two luncheons, and one evening event.
  *   Host hotel is the Renaissance Downtown Washington, DC.  Conference rates are $172, plus applicable taxes.
