Hi,

The 2021 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums that was scheduled for the last week of November has been postponed. It is now scheduled for October 25-27, 2022 in Temecula, California. Details are below. FYI for anyone who may have been considering attending the 2021 conference but had not yet registered.

Also, "[w]ith funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Association for Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM) will distribute over $3.3 million to help Native cultural organizations as they emerge from the pandemic. ATALM is one of seven organizations in the USA to receive funding through the 'Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan (SHARP)' program." Grants range from $5,000 to $50,000, and matching funds are not required. Grant applications are due December 13th, and there will be a pre-application webinar on November 4th at noon Pacific / 2:00 pm Central. More information<https://sfy.gxm.mybluehost.me/node/534> about the grant and webinar is online.

Thanks,
Jen

Dear Jennifer;

After considering every possible scenario for holding the 2021 International Conference of Indigenous Archives, Libraries, and Museums in Washington, DC from November 29-December 1, we have made the difficult decision to delay the conference until next year. The new dates are October 25-27, 2022 at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.

Information on ATALM2022, including session proposals, scholarships, registration, and travel information may be found here<https://atalm.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=1b5fd0b3926b2a0236f0325a1&id=1e49ed7ae1&e=ca34d32c32>.

Even though the 2021 conference has been delayed, our commitment to serving the needs of indigenous cultural institutions continues. Over the next year, we will host a series of online convenings on topics such as Community Engagement/Outreach, Federal Funding, Oral History, Digital Inclusion, and Community Support for Native Artists and Culture Bearers.

Your well being takes precedent with us. We look forward to gathering together in 2022 when we can do so safely and can deliver the quality of conference ATALM attendees have come to rely on,

Best wishes to you,

Kevin Gover, Conference Chair
Walter Echo-Hawk, ATALM Board Chair
Susan Feller, President/CEO
Melissa Brodt, Director of Programs
