[TL-Directors] Free training: Transgender Inclusion and Affirmation in the Workplace

The  State Library of Oregon are pleased to announce we are offering the following free online training from Basic Rights Oregon: Transgender Inclusion and Affirmation in the Workplace for a second time. This was an extremely popular session when offered last June and isn't likely to be offered again through the State Library in the foreseeable future.

This LGBTQIA2S+ Inclusion training from Basic Rights Oregon will support attendees as they begin their work toward creating a more affirming workplace for all LGBTQIA2S+ coworkers, clients, and more specifically the transgender community. The two goals for this training are to improve LGBTQIA2S+ people's experiences among their organization or community and to educate people on how to create a safer and more affirming place for all. This training will focus on developing the language and understanding attendees may need to engage with LGBTQIA2S+ people in a validating and inclusive way.

This training will take place from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, September 15 via Zoom. Space is limited to 50 participants and all attendees are expected to be present for the full 3 ½ hours. If you are unable or not willing to agree to this, please be kind and leave a seat or place for someone else. The deadline to register is 12:00p on Friday, September 9, 2022.
