Subject: [EXTERNAL] PLEASE SHARE! NEW Short-term Opportunity for Tribal Libraries from Library Makers
(please share this message)
Hello! I'm reaching out to ask for your help spreading the word about a new opportunity starting in April for Tribal libraries that may be of interest to you and your professional network.
Library Makers<http://www.librarymakers.org/> invites those who work in Tribal libraries to join a small cohort for a 6-week long immersion with 4 synchronous online sessions exploring the practical challenges of hands-on maker programs. ('Maker' refers to a wide range of activities that involve creating things with your hands or special skills - anything from ancient skills and artistry to the latest technologies. Participation in this program does not assume the Tribal library has a formal 'makerspace').
Details about this short-term opportunity can be found on this webpage<https://mailchi.mp/librarymakers/tribal-library-opportunity> which can be shared on social media and a printable flyer<https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cloZR3dopZS1e6Ail_-cwscADmiyi4k2/view?usp=sharing>. Apply by Feb. 27, 2026.
Library Makers<http://www.librarymakers.org/> is a free, online community of more than 2,000 members across the country and abroad, but Tribal libraries are currently underrepresented. Library Makers hopes to support staff at Tribal libraries in a way that is helpful. With this short-term cohort, we want to listen and learn from the perspective of Tribal library staff, provide a space for their own networking and interaction, and better understand what would be most useful to them so we can shape offerings that truly meet their needs.
We would greatly appreciate it if you could pass this along to any Tribal libraries, partners, or community members you work with who might benefit.
Thank you for all you do to support libraries and library communities.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
