[SWARM * DAS]

Effective July 1, 2018 agencies are authorized to request an individual to voluntarily provide their SSN for debt collection purposes under ORS 293.226.  SWARM is happy to provide a brief training video titled "Use of a Social Security Number (SSN) for Debt Collection" which provide the requirements agencies must follow when asking an individual to provide their SSN, other ways of obtaining an SSN and why an SSN is useful during the collection process.
